“Total Domination” is generally the easiest Ardennes Assault mission, especially if it’s at level 1-2 difficulty. Points go down in this one only when you or your opponent holds all three VPs. It is also one of the better missions for building XP/veterancy.
Your strategy is simple: First, take two VPs as quickly as possible. You never want to be in the situation where you have just one VP and the Germans can concentrate their forces on that point. If they cap it for even a second, you lose the gold (which requires that you have the full 250 points at the end).
Once you have two VPs and can muster some defense of them, start capping points on the way to your base, to get fuel and munitions flowing. Build up defenses, starting with anti-infantry and then anti-vehicle capability, while holding supply points back to base. Cap the third VP now and then. Keep killing German infantry and vehicles to build up veterancy, and—unless you’re at a high level of difficulty, on an inherently hard map, and you want to end the mission quickly to minimize casualties—try to expand your map control without always holding the third VP. Get some Shermans and (if necessary to free up pop points) dismiss weaker units.
Done right, this will be a moderately long mission in which you are in control of the map, and every one of your units vets up. When your units can’t easily get more veterancy, or start taking too many casualties, cap the third VP and let the German score tick down for the win.
